Deer Hunting (Napoleon in Compiegne Forest) is a Large Wall Hanging, with beautiful woven frame. This Hunting Scene Tapestry has rod tunnel for easy hanging. Dimensions are 140cm x 180cm. This tapestry was inspired by the work of Napoleon favourite artist Carle Vernet (1758-1836). The wall hanging depicts the emperor, his second wife, Marie-Louise and court during a hunt in the Compiegne forest, near Paris. Carle Vernet was famous for his art works of battle scenes, daily life and historical events, which he portrayed with great accuracy in details. Carle Vernt had won Prix de Rome in 1782 and Legion of Honour in 1808 with his battle scenes paintings. This beautiful tapestry was woven in Europe. Deer Hunting tapestry will make a great decorative item for a hallway, lounge, dining or study room.
